Thomas Fox

Mr. Tom Fox began under the teaching of Pastor Tom Smith when he was an elder at Fellowship Church. When Pastor Smith later began shepherding at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, Tom Fox was so blessed by Pastor Tom’s teaching, friendship and leadership that he decided to continue under Pastor Smith’s ministry and join SGBC. Tom Fox then became a deacon at SGBC a few years thereafter. Tom Fox is an amazing example of how when Jesus changes a heart, it leads to a changed life. Although Tom Fox was raised in a Christian home, before he became a Christian he used to be a petty thief. Tom’s mother continued to labor in prayer for him for many years. Shortly after Tom was married, his mother’s prayers were answered, and Tom became a new creation in Christ. After Tom became a Christian, he read the story of Zachaeus in Luke 19. Tom saw that after Jesus visited Zachaeus and Zachaeus understood the gospel, he realized he needed to pay the people back from whom he had stolen. Tom said to himself “This is what I need to do! I need to go back and give money back to all the people that I had stolen from.” Although it took Tom a few years, he went with a check to each person from whom he had stolen. One by one, he returned money to each of them and shared with them how Jesus had changed his heart. Then Tom went into the alarm business to protect people from crooks like he once was. Tom Fox now has four children with his beautiful wife Carol. They have eight grandchildren.
